Areas of Action
The Issue
There are currently seven Action Teams under the LCCP umbrella. The role of these Action Teams (listed to the left) is to focus on key issues, analyze contributing factors, develop plans of action, and spearhead implementation.
In order to foster consistency, all Action Teams utilize the same seven-question, results-driven Talk to Action! planning process selected for use by the LCCP (for detailed information, please see the Community Planning Format).
To ensure leadership development, continuity, and sustainability throughout the process, each Action Team appoints or elects two Co-Chairs. The role of these chairs includes:
- Action Plan Implementation. Chairs guide the Talk to Action! process and facilitate implementation to the best of their abilities and available resources.
- Meeting Administration. Chairs maintain team rosters; set meeting agendas and record minutes; establish communication protocols; and delegate responsibilities to team members and volunteers (such as VISTA participants).
- Capacity Building. Chairs develop their membership teams, continuously evaluating needs and recruiting diverse and relevant talent to meet strategic goals.
- Communication and Reporting. Chairs provide copies of meeting minutes to all Action Team chairs and the Executive Director; attend monthly LCCP meetings and report on their team’s activities; and communicate strategic, administrative and fiscal issues and team recommendations to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
- Resource Development. Chairs ensure submittal of grant applications relevant to their Action Plans by calling upon the aid of team members, relevant staff, volunteers, and grant writers as necessary and practical.
